On the eve of winter celebrations we tried to recall the traditions and customs of Ukrainians, however, in English. And not just share our experience, but compare our traditions with American ones. There was a dialogue of cultures: the pupils of the 10th and 11th grades of Bohorodchany School #1 from Ukraine and a Peace Corps volunteer Casey Bailey as the representative from the United States.
We have already heard a lot about the traditions of Americans (because we were taught at lessons, because we were talking to friends or relatives, because we have the Internet), and Ms. Casey knows a lot about our holidays (because she lives here for more than two years). But, as it turned out, we can get more new information by communicating alive with a resident of another country!
Many thanks to all the participants of the action! The dialogue actually was great due to pupils' presentations, mini-messages, questions-answers, even carols. Even English was so simple and understandable for everyone. And the mood of the holiday was added)
