During our holidays we organized an excursion to the Department of literature of foreign languages in the library of Ivano-Frankivsk. There is a lot of different books, magazines and newspapers there in many languages. But for our pupils it was interesting to know about everything connected with English and German because they study these languages. It was curious to learn about the events that take place in the library.
"Window on America" cooperates with Peace Corps volunteers in Ukraine and "English Speaking Club" is the place where ordinary people can gather to speak about everything in English. The visitors can watch movies in English in «Movie Club», which has a rich collection (over 200) of documentary and classical American films. One of them - "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" was presented to our attention: the American adaptation of the film with English subtitles. Students had a chance not only to watch the film in the original American language, but also to discuss it.
The Department also cooperates with the Goethe Institute, which implements various projects, participates in workshops and seminars. We were presented the readers' project works in the competition "Offsite Subscriptions" organized by Goethe Institute in Ukraine.
